The Whanganui Regional Heritage Awards were first established in 2020 to promote and celebrate heritage retention, conservation and education in the Whanganui, Ruapehu and Rangitikei Districts. The inaugural Awards were held on 1 October 2020.
Our latest Awards results
After a very successful evening, enjoyed by all who attended the Whanganui Regional Heritage trust are very pleased to thank all our entrants for their dedication and hard work.

Vision
To be a catalyst for encouraging the retention and preservation of Whanganui and the region’s cultural heritage.
Mission
To promote and celebrate heritage retention, conservation and education by recognising excellence through a quality and innovative awards programme and awards ceremony.

Plaques are presented for the three finalists in each Category. The Supreme Award winner is chosen from the 8 Award Categories and receives a hand crafted art-glass trophy to keep made by Katie Brown.
