An exhibition of the historical artefacts found during the archaeological dig at the rear of the Sarjeant Gallery on Pukenamu Queen’s Park in 2020.

Take a ride back in time along the riverbank on our 1912 Whanganui Heritage Tram 'Mable' . Available every Sunday between 1 & 3pm during Whanganui Heritage Month.

PADDLE STEAMER WAIMARIE CRUISES

Step back in time and enjoy a cruise on NZ’s only coal fired paddle steamer. Sailings are 2 hours long. Boarding is ½ hour prior to sailing.

WET PLATE PORTRAITS

A 45 minute wet-plate portrait session with photographer Adrian Cook. Take part in a process developed in the 1850’s. Watch your image slowly appear on a metal plate and document the process as it happens.
